Technical Guidelines

• All adverts must be supplied in CMYK (four-process colour) format. RGB, Pantone and Spot Colours are not acceptable.
• Text smaller than 12pt in more than one colour cannot be guaranteed to print accurately. Reversed text (white) on colour backgrounds should have a minimum stroke size of 2 point. Sans serif typeface should be used for any reverse type below 14pt.
• Adverts must be sent to the booked size and exclude bleed and printers marks suck as registration marks, ID boxes, etc.
• Where possible all supplied artwork should use the ContentID, or ad number, as the file name, be less than 17 characters long and contain only alphanumeric characters such as 1-10 and a-z. Other characters such as '!', '(','?','/','*','$', etc, must be avoided.
• PDF files should ideally be created using the Adobe suite of Applications and to a 'Press Quality' setting and fonts must be embedded. Multi-page .pdf files are not acceptable. If supplying more than one advert, they must be sent as separate files.
• EPS files must be high-resolution, font embedded files or Raster (Bitmap) eps files (240ppi resolution) and supplied in CMYK format.
• All bitmap graphics contained within artwork should be 240ppi for newsprint & 300ppi for glossy magazines, in CMYK format.

Other file formats should ONLY be supplied after prior consultation with APC.
